So we decided something we might need in the game is a long distance communications method in character. This way you can check in with a home city while elsewhere, or send a message to a distant friend. These boards have a PM system so you can send a message to another user, so we think that will work to take advantage of that!
Here's how sending a message will work in character:
In Lirika, there's a distance communication magic called Communique that's commonly accessible. Only a single scroll can be transported, when it is used the scroll appears to burn with a burst of green fire, and then appears with a puff of smoke near your recipient. You must be familiar with the recipient for it to work, and messages can be intercepted, so using a physical messenger for anything important or sensitive is still preferred.
In Krilia, this messaging is the equivalent of sending an electronic message through NICOLE, the communications network that everyone with a Core can access through their cybernetics. You must have the contact info of the target of your message, and there are similar concerns about electronic failure or hacking with distance messages of great importance. Also, NICOLE can sometimes be an unreliable bitch
If you are in your opposite world, or are a certain fox demon, you'll have to figure out or have someone native to the world help you with communication in that world. We hope that this ability to send a letter might come in handy in some situations that come up, and save you having to take a trip across one of the worlds to ask about something!
