Player Name: Wolfy
Character Name: Vulira
Home World: Neither
Currently Resides: Wandering around Lirika
Age: Appears to be somewhere in her 20's
Gender: Female
Race: Fox demon
Appearance info: Average height, quite curvy, olive skin, decent muscle tone from life on the road.
Her eyes are a bright, vivid red, which sometimes darken to black when she's very angry. Her canine teeth are just slightly longer and sharper than a human's, but not as much as a vamp's.
Her hair is shoulder-length and kind of odd in color. It's mostly black, but shot through with what appear to be coppery red highlights, and in the right light, the tips of her hair appear silver. She has furry, pointed ears the same color as her hair, and a long, bushy tail, also the same color as her hair.
She wears half-calf black & gray leather boots with a thin silver chain looped around the ankle of the right one, and shorts and a crop top in white with a black floral print. Over the shorts and top, she wears a loose, too-large chain mail top. The links are very small and fine, and feel like dry fish scales when touched. She wears 5 necklaces, including a red-gemmed collar. Wound around her right upper arm is a copper snake armband. On her left arm is a leather armband with a green gem.
(Just pretend the black and white top is not a bra, lol. There are limits to what you can recreate in The Sims. XD)
Vulira without chain mail, yay! (Found mods to make it possible!):
Personality info: Vulira is shy, but pragmatic. Though slow to warm up to people, she's still generally friendly, and often kind to a fault. She grapples with a repressed history of abuse from a mage who tried to bind her when she was very young. A goddess on her home world sealed away her memories of that time, but the seal has slowly weakened over time, especially after the death of that goddess and the frequent dimension-hopping away from her residual power. She will occasionally have nightmares or flashbacks, but has no context for them. On very rare occasions, she will lash out if someone reminds her too much of her old master, but again, she has no context for her own reactions, so is often left confused or feeling guilty. She tends to favor a position of neutrality, often feeling compelled to help the sick or wounded, no matter what "side" they're on.
Relationship info: Vulira has no one here. Everyone she's ever known is scattered across various alternate worlds and dimensions. Sometimes that makes her sad, if she stops and thinks about it.
She had a boyfriend back home for a brief time, but they parted ways because of the difference in how they were aging, since he was human and she had reached the point where she would no longer age at all. Since then, she's been a bit leery of starting anything new with mortal men.
She's really perceptive, so she's pretty good at noticing when someone is flirting with her, but because of her shyness, she often pretends to be obtuse about it. It's highly unlikely she'll initiate flirting, unless intoxicated or ensorcelled, unless she has known the guy for a while and is really into him. And when she actually does turn on the charm, her instincts can kinda take over.
In her home world, fox demons tend to be fairly promiscuous, but Vulira isn't so much, mostly because of her shyness. But she's keenly aware of the reputation of her species, and it tends to make her self-conscious.
Profession: Herbalist, wanderer
Fighting Style: Vulira prefers not to engage in combat if she can avoid it. If the threat is just to her, she usually opts to just dissipate and escape. But if someone she cares about is threatened, she will stick around! She's decently proficient with daggers, and uses her knowledge of herbs to apply various lethal or nonlethal coatings to the metal to make them more effective. She can also put a decent amount of force behind her stabs by making herself really dense.
Lore Talents: Herbalism, Apothecary
Patron: 2 Unknown Entities
Unique Racial Features: As a demon, Vulira has the ability to change the density of her body, becoming as diffuse as smoke, or dense as osmium (the densest naturally occurring element). That means she can escape from just about any container that isn't air-tight, or specifically warded for holding a demon. Or she can be really heavy and immovable by going the other way with her power. The ability is neither automatic nor instant though, so she needs enough time to react to use her power to protect herself. (However, the amount of change in density doesn't impact the amount of time it takes to shift. Increasing to the density of iron takes the same amount of time as increasing to the density of osmium, which takes the same amount of time as decreasing to smoke/mist.) She is also not mortal, in the sense that she hasn't aged since reaching adulthood, and won't age further. She is also able to go without food, water, air or sleep for longer periods than a mortal creature, but by no means indefinitely.
Arsenal: Vulira keeps four daggers concealed under the chain mail shirt she wears. Two of them have 2-inch blades, and two of them have 4-inch blades. They're all kept in water-proofed leather sheaths attached to a utility belt. The interiors of the two smaller sheaths have been coated in a painful, but not usually lethal, poison. The interiors of the two smaller sheaths have been coated in a fast-acting paralytic. The antidotes to both poisons are kept in an oblong brooch pin attached to the neck of her chain mail shirt.
In the pouches of her utility belt, she keeps various herbs, some medicinal, some magical, some just edible. One of the pouches also contains a ball of sturdy twine and a ball of leather string, as well as a small bundle of cloth bandages. The largest pouch on her belt has a few day's worth of jerky. The belt also has a waterskin attached. The waterskin is pretty much the only thing on the utility belt that is visible, as it hangs on her left hip, lower than the bottom of her chain mail shirt.
Backstory: Vulira was born on a trans-dimensional hub world. The planet is covered with gates and rifts that open into all manner of alternate realities. She has spent most of her life hopping from world to world, sometimes voluntarily, sometimes not. She mostly tries to avoid her home world, now, as the last time she was there, she ended up being the keystone to the total destruction of the Heaven and Hell and gods of her world, because of the earth goddess of that world. The result was that all angels and demons were forced onto the mortal plane to live among the humans, elves, vampires, etc, and all of the gods of that world were destroyed, though their residual energy/magic/power lingers, making it a very attractive place for magic users from other worlds to come to study.
Vulira was originally a red fox (see spoiler above, it's not a secret, just saving space), with bright copper hair and golden eyes, but being a catalyst changed her in ways she hasn't yet fully figured out. Her eyes turned red and her hair began to blacken. Soon, she will lose what little red remains in her hair. When she looks at her hair, she can see the tips turning silver, and knows that soon the black will follow the red and leave her completely silver.
As mentioned before, Vulira's memories of her tortured childhood are sealed. Her earliest memory is waking up in a ruined temple to the earth goddess of her world, and then promptly (though gently) evicted by a dryad. She wandered at random for awhile, and then very, very luckily, was found by another fox demon who was a distant cousin. This cousin was an herbalist, and ended up raising Vulira, teaching her the ways of herbs and plants and medicines.
Vulira's best friend back home was a vampire who travelled to Vulira's world to escape her past while Vulira was questing to uncover her own past. The vampire became her [unwilling] companion and, eventually, her best friend. They journeyed together for about a century before things surrounding Vulira's destiny finally came to a head.
Now, Vulira just bounces from world to world, trying to find some meaning to her life now that she (seemingly) already lived up to and fulfilled her destiny.
Other Information: Well... since Vulira is a demon, she could be bound... IF someone knew how!

This is the next stage of Vulira's transition. You shouldn't be seeing this yet.
No, really, this is a secret! We may not get this far! (But probably will. Hopefully.)
Her hair is a bit longer, and silver, her fur is silver. Her eyes are violet. The gems of her collar have turned violet as well! She swapped out the beads of the other necklace with color to match the collar. The chain mail over shorts and crop top with boots is no longer her main outfit. Now she is a "holy servant", according to her home world, and must dress appropriately. She wears a simple, elegant silver dress with purple accents, and white, silver and purple sandals. She no longer wears the utility belt, either. Her powers have grown by this point to where she has access to a small pocket dimension where she can store stuff (details in race traits section spoilers). (Jarred, you'll have to tell me how many KC she'll need for that. ) She still has the snake armband, and the armband and anklet that appeared when she arrived in Lirika.
Vulira's final stage
You don't really want to be spoiled, do you?
You already snooped on the previous one, didn't you? *silently judges*
(Haaaaa, omg, she turned out so CUUUTE! I swear I didn't adjust anything but clothes and hair and eye color! The shape of her face and everything is exactly the same! Her hairstyle just makes her look suuuuper different!)
You're the type that can't stand secrets, aren't you? But don't you want to be surprised?!
Her hair is very long now, and both hair and fur are snowy white. Her eyes have become a clear, vivid blue, and the gems have once again changed to match. She wears a long, flowing, low cut white gown and fine white silk shoes with thin wooden soles. She no longer wears the snake armband, but she does still have the armband and anklet from her arrival. She can still use the pocket dimension, but doesn't bother as much. She is now able to heal most wounds and sickness by touch, no herbs necessary. (Again, will need to know how many KC that will take, lol.) She has a strange, luminous quality to her now, as if she's emitting a faint glow. However, that's just the impression one gets when seeing her. She doesn't actually glow in the dark.

**This is all stuff that will happen well into the future, and it all needs admin approval first, though I'm quite sure I'll be able to get the karma cookies to do it. Just keep in mind this is mostly hypothetical in terms of what will be used in this game, as these are all holdovers from how she was slated to progress in past roleplays. It may get adjusted or reworked for this game. It depends a lot on how long she stays in this world, how fast she gains "xp" in the context of the game, and what makes the most sense for the setting, as Vulira's choices can influence how her powers grow and change.**
When Vulira loses all of her red, she will gain a new ability, as yet unknown. Currently she doesn't have any abilities a normal red fox demon wouldn't have, just her strength and control is greater than if she were fully red. It is common for the black fox demons to gain some measure of Empathic or Telepathic abilities. Vulira's tendency towards kindness and her propensity for healing makes it likely she will become an Empath. This is not an automatic ability. She must choose to focus on someone and get a sense of their emotions/physical pain/etc, unless they are projecting at a really intense level.
As she progresses towards silver, the strength and control of her abilities, old and new, will increase even further.

As she progresses towards silver, the strength and control of her abilities, old and new, will increase even further.
When Vulira has transitioned fully into silver, she will gain yet another new ability. Her frequent travel across dimensions and her greater connection to divine power enables her to sense weaknesses in the fabric dividing dimensions. She'll be able to sense portals/gates/rifts when she gets close to them, as well as sense where potential rifts could open.
She discovers a small, unused "pocket dimension" (basically an intangible bag of holding) that she is able to access at will. She can use this pocket dimension to store non-living things up to half her mass. So she could maybe get a small chair in there, but not a bed. There is no weight limit on this dimension, but it does have limited space. It's about the size of a walk-in closet, so about 150 cubic feet, but it's not rectangular in shape. It's sort of like amorphous shrink wrap... If it's empty and you put your hand in it, the bounds of the space do not extend past your hand. It would feel like there's no space at all, like you stuck your hand in a plastic bag pulled tight around your hand. So it can accommodate any irregularly shaped object as long as the sum total of mass contained does not exceed 150 cubic feet.
Once again, as she transitions from silver to white, her strength and control will continue to grow.

Once Vulira is a pure white fox demon, she will be demonic and divine simultaneously. The change catalyzed by having the power of four elemental gods channeled through her will be complete. She is both angel, and demon!
As such, she gains angelic sort of abilities. She can use her own reserves of energy to heal the sicknesses and wounds of those she touches. Doing that a lot will drain her energy and she will need to take time to replenish by eating a good meal and sleeping a full night. She also sometimes appears to "glow" (but doesn't actually, it's like the "glow" people say they see in pregnant women or people newly in love, but slightly more literal). It doesn't actually do anything, but it's pretty, and people tend to find it distracting or slightly mesmerizing, especially if they find Vulira attractive. But it's just a humanoid response to "ooh, shiny!" and not a forced magical effect.

Vulira's childhood abuse. You don't want to read about this if talk about abuse in any form triggers you. The character of her old master was created specifically to be the WORST possible villain. The worst things you could think of, he is. I'm not going to be graphic, but even so, this is your trigger warning. This segment is for the morbidly curious or those who feel they need to know for the sake of plot. If you're worried you'll accidentally meta-game as a result of reading this info, then don't! If you have a character that's kind of a dick and you want them to cross the wrong boundary with Vulira for maximum effect, I am actually fine with that! It makes for good storytelling and good character development. But you have to consider whether the action makes sense for your character to be doing, and you must remember that your character has no way of knowing Vulira is going to have an extreme reaction to what they do. If you're not sure how to write that in a subtle, effective way, feel free to PM me and we can work together on a general outline of the sequence of events (without going into enough detail to make it not worth RP'ing).
Last chance. Read past this point at your own risk.
Long ago, an evil mage named Castinox sought to summon a demon child to be his plaything. He was a flamboyant looking mage with long pink curls and dark brown eyes. He had thin, angular features, and he would've been considered beautiful for some if not for the obvious cruelty in the set of his eyes and mouth. To look at him was to shudder with the knowledge that one was looking at a terrible beauty akin to an ice sculpture of a hideous monster. The beauty and perfection of the craftsmanship couldn't hide the horror of the subject matter.
It shouldn't have been possible to summon a demon child. They were immune to the magics and were not given names until puberty, so there should've been no way to even find, let alone summon, a demon child.
But Vulira was different. She was the only demon to be given a destiny. Since she had a destiny, her name was preordained. The magic that tied her to her name was present from the day she was born, and no one knew it. Even the goddess who had blessed her didn't know the terrible consequences of her gift.
So Castinox was able to summon Vulira. He could have bound her as soon as he summoned her, but if he had, she would've been able to return home and stay there unless called. Castinox didn't want that. If she was able to go home, her parents might figure out how to shield her, perhaps even break the binding. If he conditioned her and groomed her first, then ah, she would be his forever!
So from the time Vulira was a toddler until she reached puberty (a few decades), she was Castinox's plaything. He tortured her with many creative tortures. Things like making her wear many layers of heavy wool clothes in the height of summer, while going naked with no blankets or fire in the dead of winter. He would deprive her of food until she was starving, and then force her to gorge on a massive feast so that she would become sick. He forced her to do tasks she was incapable of so he would have an excuse to beat her. He would bind her in a single position or suspend her in the air with chains for weeks at a time. He would bind her hands and feet and then command her to do tasks that required more dexterity than the binding allowed. He visited upon her many other creative tortures and abuses that his twisted mind could think of.
When she finally reached puberty, Castinox began preparing for the binding ritual. It took several weeks of preparation as he gathered materials and memorized the chants. In that time, he ignored Vulira, leaving her to starve until the ritual.
Puberty was when Vulira came into her powers.
She discovered them while trying to drink water that leaked into the dungeon where she was kept. In trying to get closer to the wall, she fell partially into it! She spent a few days testing the extent of her abilities, and then dissipated into smoke and followed the leak out of the dungeon to freedom! As soon as she was free of the dungeon, she was out of range of the spells that Castinox had put in place to prevent anyone detecting she was hidden with him. The earth goddess was immediately aware of her location, and appeared in front of Vulira. She gathered the young fox demon in her arms and carried her to her temple. There, she sealed away Vulira's memories of Castinox and his abuse. The goddess felt those memories would corrupt Vulira's destiny and make her unable to do what was necessary.
So Vulira awoke in the goddess's temple with no memory of anything that had happened between being taken from her parents and ending up in the earth temple. The goddess gently sent Vulira out of the temple and on her way, without revealing her own identity.
She wandered around for a few weeks before happening upon a cottage in the woods. Living within was a young adult fox demon woman named Feeny, who was an herbalist. Feeny was Vulira's distant cousin, but they didn't know that for a long time. Vulira's memory loss prevented her from being able to tell Feeny enough for them to figure out who her parents were. So Vulira lived with Feeny for the several decades that made up her early teens, learning about plants and poisons and medicines, until she decided to set out and try to recover her past.
Ways a person might remind Vulira of Castinox (without either of their knowledge):

- Treating Vulira like a slave
- Touching her in ways that are not commonly socially acceptable (hugging, shoulder patting, hand shakes, grabbing hand/elbow, that sort of thing would be "commonly socially acceptable touch") without her expressed consent
- Mental/emotional manipulation
- Talking to her the way an abuser talks to their victims
- Possibly more... you can PM me with ideas
Other Information: Well... since Vulira is a demon, she could be bound... IF someone knew how!

Ok, Vulira can be bound with a specific ritual. (She does not know anything about how this works or what the rules are.)
It requires drawing an 8-pointed (double square) star in a circle using dirt from the inside of a fox's den.
4 of the points should align with the cardinal directions.
On the north point should be a white pillar candle with a hollow center containing a piece of a white cloud, that burns with a cold flame.
On the south point should be a blue spherical candle with a hollow center containing sea water and river water, but they cannot mix, and should burn with a blue flame.
On the west point should be a short, red, square candle that was made with equal parts wax and clay, with pebbles and perfect autumn leaves pressed into the sides, that burns with a green flame.
On the east point should be a red taper candle made of wax melted over the heat of an active volcano and molded into the taper shape using a hollow salamander claw, and burns with a very hot white flame.
On the point between fire and water should be an iron bowl of water placed over a Bunsen burner so that it generates steam.
On the point between fire and air should be a crystal bottle containing a piece of a lightning bolt.
On the point between air and earth should be a piece of a meteorite that contains at least 50% silver and at least traces of platinum.
On the point between earth and water should be a bowl made of carved river rock, containing clean mud from a healthy swamp or wetlands, containing at least 10% microorganisms of both helpful and harmful nature.
In the very center of the circle there must be a flat disk of polished red agate, with exactly 3 hairs from a mortal fox that shares the fur colors of the fox demon being summoned.
Once assembled, the summoner must light each candle going clockwise starting at the north point, while reciting "I call forth [name of demon]!" at all 8 points around the circle. Once all the candles are lit, the summoner must end by returning to the north point, hold out both arms and recite "By the cold north winter air, by the hot east spring fire, by the warm south summer water, by the cool west autumn earth, I call forth [name of demon] to do my bidding!"
The fox demon being summoned will then appear in the center of the circle, and the fox hairs on the agate disk will be consumed.
At that point, the summoner can either ask the demon questions and then set it free, or proceed with binding it.
If any part of the circle is disrupted, the ritual will fail and the demon escape. The demon cannot disrupt the circle on its own. It's trapped on the disk.
To bind the demon, the summoner must cut their hand with a ritual blade made of pure red jasper, with a silver hilt set with cat's eye gems that are yellow.
The demon must bite their own hand and draw blood. While the summoner's hand is bleeding, it may pass the barrier of the circle without disrupting it (so long as the blood does not drip and put out a candle or disrupt the circle of dirt), and while the demon's hand is bleeding, it may reach past the borders of the disk. Summoner and demon shake hands, and the demon is then bound to the summoner.
The binding must be consensual, but duress to obtain consent is acceptable. The summoner cannot keep the demon contained in the circle indefinitely, as the spell lasts only until the candles burn out (which will be simultaneous no matter how far apart the lighting). If the demon doesn't know that, the summoner might use that as a threat, though. Any threats or promises can be used. Often times, the summoner lays forth terms of service wherein both parties benefit (fox demons do not take souls, but that's a good example anyway).
Once all conditions of service have been met, the demon is automatically unbound from the summoner. If no terms were set and the demon is bound to the summoner as a slave, then only the summoner's consent to unbind, or the summoner's death, can unbind the demon. The summoner's death always unbinds the demon. The demon cannot kill the summoner while bound.
If the circle is disrupted, the demon is set free in the location of the summoner, meaning it can enact vengeance if it desires. If the spell ends because the candles burn out, the demon is returned from whence it came.
