Kivara entered Blue Sky in her lycan form and as she went through the town she distinguished between different scents until she found Inver's. It was faint but it was there. Her ears perked as she listened to strains of conversation hoping to hear something about her mother's disappearance. At the towns edge she threw back her head and howled calling to the pack and letting them know she was there.
Word had gotten to her in the Thieves Guild the night before that she needed to return and the circumstances. The relationship between her and her mother had been rather strained lately but Kivara put that aside. Inver was still her mother and she needed to be found. She needed to come home. She slid into her human form and waited to see who might arrive. She leaned against the trunk of a nearby tree and rubbed at her temples before moving the heavy weight of her hair off her neck. Until Inver returned the pack was her responsibility and for Kivara that was no easy undertaking.
She couldn't help the sense of unease that crept up her spine. Inver had gone to the desert to investigate and no one knew where she was now. What had she found there? What happened? These questions wouldn't leave her be and Kivara hated that she didn't have the answers. A bit of guilt crept in too. If she hadn't left would Inver have gone alone?

"Uneasy, dear?" Brum stepped off of her porch walking towards the Lycan she knew well.
She made a motion as if she was fanning herself, but really was holding up a fanned out set of tarot cards, as an offer of explanation as to how she knew to expect Kivara.
"Your mother had faith you would come back when needed. I knew she was right."

Kivara looked at Brum with a sense of relief and gave her a hug, it was good to see a familiar face. "You might say that. My mother usually never stays away long." She sighed and moved her head from side to side to try and loosen the tension in her neck. "I don't know how I feel about coming back this way. There are things I have been wanting to share with her. I made a life for myself in Draemir helping the King. I wanted to show her that I could make decisions for myself on my own. I wanted to make her proud in my own way." What she didn't say out loud was now she was afraid she might not get the chance but to voice it would make it seem more real and she just couldn't. The cards did not escape her attention, the same cards that when she was younger she used to scoff at, but after awhile she had begun to realize Brum's predictions had never been wrong. Now she had a healthy respect for them. "I have to find her."

Brum shook her head sadly and replaced the cards. "I have tried... believe my I have looked every day since Inver did not return. Wherever she is it is beyond my ability to see. But do not lose hope. That does not mean she is gone from us. We just cannot be sure what it means."
A few Lycans have begun to gather and greet Kivara enthusiastically. They express their relief that she is back, and their sorrow that they have yet been unable to locate her mother. A few of the humans and others of the village gather on their porches with interest to watch the meeting. Brum hangs back and lets Kivara talk to her people. She is glad that with Kivara's presence, the pack should not begin to fall apart.
