Zoh indicates no thank you to Adirion and paces back and forth instead of sitting. "Without going into too much detail we are as like to have to repeat, yes I am afraid that all news indicates Queen Keli of the merfolk is rooted firmly in whatever dark happenings have gone on with the estranged princess."
He listens and nods as Adelbert Markham talks about counseling the king in such direction. "We would do well to give the king all the support we can, for it may well be that there are those among our current nations who would play both sides of the table if they could." He exchanged a dark look with his wife who sipped her tea mutely at this comment.
"Further, we must make plans for the current problems troubling the nations. The kidnappings continue in growing number, and I would be remiss if I did not state that I am convinced Niara and whatever dark forces work with her, or through her are at the root of the issue."

The Selkie's ear fins twitch and his skin gains an almost invisible crystalline sheen as his anger grows, his tone cold as he says, "Queen Keli has always surrounded herself with powerful magic users. It comes to no surprise that their highest echelons are allying with the dark forces moving in the world currently. She seeks only power and cares not the method used to achieve it."
He smiles at the other emissaries. "Thus, we already know at least two of the opposing forces in this conflict. It puts us at a higher state of knowing than previously thought. Much of what I wish to bring up must wait until the king arrives, but I must say I agree with your assessments Lord Zoh, Lord Markham."
Adirion sits rigidly, poised with the teapot over the cup he just poured for Adelbert. He gestures toward the various sweeteners and flavorings, asking, "Lemon? Cream?"

"No thank you, Lord Adirion. You honor me too greatly already in pouring tea- I shall attend to it myself."

They all sip their tea and make casual conversation for a bit more until there is a knocking on the door and a knight with purple hair enters, bowing courteously to the emissaries. Some recognize him as Teryis, the king's bodyguard.
"Hail and welcome to all of you. If I may, announcing the king Laith Draemir." He stands back to allow some other soldiers and those they are guarding to enter the pavillion. "As well as Lady Taliyah and the stand-in emissary for Blue Sky, Calis Diablo."
Kaya sets her teacup down and stands for those entering. Zou stops his pacing and moves to greet the king when he enters.

Adelbert Markham rises to his feet in honor of the new King and bows slightly, making sure none of his clothes droop into his tea. He doesn't look up until given permission to sit.

Adirion stands as the procession enters the room. His breath catches as Laith enters. He bows lowly and says, "Welcome, Your Majesty. It is an honor to see you again so soon." He smirks slyly at the king, knowing that it had only been yesterday when they last met. Upon seeing the shadows under his eyes, he knows that Laith did not sleep well the previous night. The respite in Veirntarn helped, but Adirion could tell that this whole situation was taking its toll on the king. He offered his silent support in a fond look and a sympathetic smile, hoping that the man would understand.
"Your Majesty, may I introduce to you Lord Adelbert Markham of Kalemnos, as well as Lord Zoh and Madame Kaya of Dusk Glade." He gestured to each in turn. Then he turned to the others that came in, bowing to the foreign Selkie and the Lycan companion to prince Davyn. "I am Adirion, Emissary of Veirntarn. It's a pleasure to be working with you all."

Laith was nervous, but he kept that to himself and tried not to show it on the outside. This was the first big gathering since the crown had passed to him and he wanted to make a good impression. He smiled at Adirion, glad that he was there with him, though he knew it was in an official capacity just as much as he was. This was why he knew he couldn't be too informal.
"Lord Adiriion I am glad to see you again so soon as well. Lady Kaya and Lord Zou it is good to see you here as well, though I wish it could be under more joyous circumstances."
He noted the name Aldebert Markham, he had not yet met Kalmenos's emissary. Laith smiled and nodded courteously to Aldebert. "It is an honor to meet the man who represents the great city of Kalmenos. It is my hope that we can work well together to meet any needs your city may have and assist each other in these darker times ahead."
Then he addressed the room. "Everyone please take a seat. We have much to discuss and we may as well be comfortable to do so." Formality still bothered him to some degree but he knew especially as King, he would encounter even more than he did as just a prince. Laith hoped to put everyone at ease to speak to one another.

Iona entered the room, flushed and slightly out of breath. "I apologize my lord. I hope I am not too late. I was helping tend to a friend." She bowed her head out of respect.
"You are not late Lady Iona, we were just getting acquainted before we begin." He indicated a free chair for her to sit in.
Laith addressed the room again. "This is Lady Iona, the newly appointed emissary of the Reverie Caravan led by Lady Lymira."

"That is the wish of the people of Kalemnos as well, Your Majesty. May our cities ever be friends to one another." Markham sits when directed at the king, then begins observing the interplays between those assembled.

"Welcome Lady Iona. May I offer you a seat?" Adirion nodded politely to Iona and pulled out a chair for her to sit in. He ensured everyone was seated, besides the guards of course, and then seated himself. He looked back and forth across the table at the various emissaries, truly astounded at the number of different races and cities represented here. These were the primary envoys of this entire land, gathered in one place. 'And beyond, I suppose,' he considered silently, staring discreetly in the direction of Taliyah, still unsure what to think of this Selkie from a different world. Knowing the living conditions of her people saddened him and he wanted to speak with his own king about ways to help them. He would need to remember to ask Taliyah at a later point if her people would be amenable.

Teryis pokes Calis, motioning to a seat. He was sure the other bodyguard would out of habit remain standing guard with him, forgetting she was brought here to express concerns from her home village. He then goes to pull out a seat for the weary lady Taliyah.
Zou and Kaya both sit at the table, giving thanks to the king for taking time out of his schedule to meet with them. "We know you must be busy with the last rites of the queen, may all divinity guide and rest her eternal soul." Zou bows his head solemnly as he says such.
He looked around at the assembled group, the young vampyre, the two selkies, the new king, the lycan guard, the gentleman from Kalemnos "It is heartening to see our kingdom still come together as such, all our peoples in peaceful meeting despite the troubles that tear at us from different sides."

"Seeing everyone gathered here today gives me hope for all our futures. It would have given my mother such joy to see everyone willing to work together." He nodded in appreciation to Zoh's statement. "Thank you Lord Zoh. I have been busy trying to secure my mother's rest but it also doesn't escape me that my attention is needed here at the moment as well. There is trouble brewing in all corners and there is the matter of my eldest sister to be discussed."
He paused for a moment and then continued. "I wish to discuss any and all problems your people's face here today and lend any help I can, as you all came to help us here."
Taliyah sank into the chair that Teryis offered, listening to the King speak. She would speak of what troubled her when the right moment came.

Zou nodded at the king. A bit inexperienced but he was trying. He decided he would try and direct the meetings along a bit for him.
"If it pleases the room, I'll begin. the number of vanishings is still on the rise, and now that..." he made an apologetic face to the king "the exiled princess, Niara's, intentions have been made clear, I believe we can attribute her group to the source of this dilemna that we have been running into. Although, that is not to discount other... factions that are clearly in play." He looks pointedly at Taliyah, and then around the room, uncertain of whether to bring up the otherworldly presence directly.
Teryis moves by the door and watches the proceedings, grimacing as Taliyah's origins are brought up so soon.
Kaya leans forward and watches the new king Laithe and the new emissary Adelbert with critical eyes, taking in how they respond to the situation and trying to get a feel for the mood of the room.

"Thank you, Lord Zoh. The disappearances are very troubling and the most recent is Blue Sky's pack leader Inver. I have no doubt Niara is behind them, with her not being in her right mind as well as accumulating questionable allies. The shadowlands will not hold her for long. I would like to find a way to magically contain her there if such a solution can be found for the time being." Laithe appreciated the lead in to the conversation and gave Zoh an appreciative look.
He paused for a moment. "I also would like to formulate a special group to keep an eye on Niara and those working for her, they also may be able to gain information concerning the disappearances. I am also willing to send mages and soldiers to aid cities in searching for those who are missing as well."
"Lady Taliyah, you mentioned you might have an idea as to some other things that may be going on."
The selkie woman stood up and faced those gathered. "I may know part of why Innuruz has been hard to reach. Something is wrong with Alina, she has made a habit of appearing to me often since I was chosen and now I cannot hear her, and when I try to reach out to her I can't. As of late, I have felt overly drained and not like myself and I feel that my connection to her is causing this. If Alina is truly unwell then it stands to reason that Innuruz would be preoccupied trying to help her."
She took a seat again. "I have no proof other than my connection to her so it would need to be looked into."

Adirion listened intently as the other emissaries and King Laith spoke. "You might surely count Queen Keli as one of her questionable allies, Your Majesty. Furthermore, I must unfortunately add to our list of woes. Of late, there has been an influx of mermen refugees who speak of a growing darkness in Queen Keli's domain. They flee from being captured and subjected to unimaginable things. Those caught running are taken somewhere, never to be seen again. I fear more and more that the Queen might be in league with the Princess. Or worse, in league with whomsoever is influencing her." He thinks on Niara and what such a kind soul she was. Only fell magic could cause a person to change in such a drastic manner so quickly.
"To make matters worse, patrol parties report that they can no longer reach as close to her border as they once could. Some have even returned with a strange sickness similar to magic poisoning. They've recovered with swift care, but I fear longer exposure to whatever it is could result in death, or worse. My people have always been at odds with the Queen and her folk, but the timing of these particular happenings is suspicious."
Adirion folded his hands in front of him as he thought about matters. "In regards to keeping the Princess contained to the shadowlands, I might direct a possible solution from Kalemnos." He looked directly at Adelbert. "If those who created the magic surrounding your city are willing to share, even partially, their expertise, we could abate any immediate actions the Princess might take. It would give us the time needed to formulate plans and journeys necessary for your earlier suggestion."

Lady Kaya ponders the situation for a moment and speaks up. "I believe that my people would be capable of helping to keep Niara contained within the shadowlands. There are a few obstacles to obtaining their aid. We would need an audience to speak with all of the courts. Furthermore this would require outside help as well as far as magical resources are concerned with power and implementation."
"Perhaps Kalmenos could lend a hand in that respect? Their magical secrets have kept the city warded and safe from outside forces since it's beginning from what I understand."
He turned to Lord Aldebert. "Perhaps you could appeal to the city's leaders and seek their aid?" (Lord Aldebert thinks he could talk to the local branch of the mage academy here in Draemir for a faster response, and could also send a message to Kalmenos."
"The pack can help as well, they could perhaps serve as guards as this barrier is put up?" Zoh was looking around the room.
Teryis took this moment to nudge Calis as a silent reminder that she could speak up as well since she was also here in an emissary capacity as well as a guard.
Laith listened to what was said and was nodding in agreement. "These are all great suggestions and I feel they would help us carry out this purpose well." He turned to Adirion.
"Mayhap the selkies can aid with this along the coastlines?"

Calis was watching the room at this point, she had never been much of a,'seal the trouble away person,' although she hated to admit it, the most clear solution to her would be to strike at the enemy before they had time to grow. Never less she had other concerns, if the pack leader was gone blue sky was vulnerable, and her family still living in the caravan was in danger, especially if the enemy was trying to weaken Laith by targeting his allies .
"If I may make a suggestion? I would like to investigate Blue Sky, I'm concerned about something the enemy may try to get there. Also if I can convince said something to help us it would be very beneficial to our cause. Just a suggestion of course." Calis said while giving Laith a concerned look.
